National Safety Council and Ellis & Associates Learn-to-Swim Program
The National Safety Council Learn to Swim Program is an innovative approach for enabling individuals of all ages to learn swimming and water safety skills. It was developed based on nationwide research conducted by Jeff Ellis & Associates, Inc., an international aquatic safety consultant firm.
The program objective and mission is to provide a positive, fun-filled opportunity to learn skills that will reduce the number of drownings and provide lifelong aquatic enjoyment.

Designed for children ages 6 months through 3 years; water safety education is the core emphasis. In addition, developmentally appropriate water activities are introduced so that the adult may safely enjoy the water with their child. The child is able to explore the water in a fun-filled, exciting way that provides a positive experience and builds a solid foundation for future swimming skills.

A fun, interactive program for children ages 4 to 7 years. Colorful booklets that feature Swish the Safety Fish and a host of aquatic characters provide a unique resource for instructors that allows rapid learning to take place, as well as a tool to integrate the parent into the child’s learning process. The program is based on sound objectives and is highly motivational for both student and instructor.

Designed for older children through adulthood, this series present two challenges that allow for flexibility to meet your needs. Fitness and Stroke & Safety challenges can be easily integrated and administered in any type of lesson format
group, camp, school sessions, pre-swim team, and even private instruction! Emphasis is placed on improving performance for each individual, based on the challenge selected.
