The purpose of this guide is to provide the information and explanations necessary to help you understand the required pool maintenance or "troubleshooting" procedures to keep your pool working as designed. The filtration and sanitation systems are designed to keep your pool water clean and clear. A filter is a device designed for straining the impurities or suspended material from the water that flows through it. A sanitizer is a chemical compound added to the water that oxidizes or kills organic material and bacteria to provide a clean water environment. The water is pushed through the pipes to and from the pool by a water pump, which is driven by an electric motor. This is the simple explanation; the following chart expands on some of the commonly used terms to identify parts, components, procedures, common problems and related solutions. Keep in mind that if you are attempting to diagnose a problem and are having difficulties call us for advice, don't spend too much time collecting information about the problem you are diagnosing.
