Maryland Recertification Course 02-11-2024

This discounted price is only available to those who agree to work for Continental Pools.  Certifications for non-employees will not be issued.  Registration is limited by instructor availability and facility size, therefore, training fees are non-refundable. Pre-requisite of the online Ellis & Associates modules must be completed prior to attending the in-person class. 

You must have applied and interviewed for the position before registering.  The current price of the course reflects an agreement to work from Memorial Day through Labor Day unless an alternative employment period is agreed upon. You will be responsible for the difference between the discounted price and the full cost of the lifeguarding class if you do not complete your agreed upon employment period. The full cost for the lifeguarding class is $350.00.

Prerequisites:

• Minimum age: 15 years
• Swim a distance of 100 yards using crawl or breaststroke without resting
• Feet-First dive, retrieve a 10-pound brick from a minimum depth of 8 feet and bring it to the surface.
• Tread water without using arms for 1 minute
• Minimum of 6 students per instructor; maximum of 16 students

Course Cancellation Policies

Weather Cancellation

If a class is cancelled due to weather conditions any student in an affected course will be able to transfer to the next available course with no additional charges.

Participant Cancellation

If a student cancels any time prior to the start day of the course the student will not receive any type of refund. If the cancellation is a minimum of 48 hours before the start day of the course the initial payment can be applied towards a future course. For any cancellation under 48 hours’ notice, the participant will need to submit a new payment. Calling or emailing the training facility to cancel is not the proper procedure to cancel and a refund will not be issued.  In order to cancel enrollment please contact your local recruiter. You will need to provide your name, phone number, and course information.

No Show Policy

If a student “No-Shows” to a course, NO refund will be given. If a student shows up more than an hour late to a course, it is also considered a No Show. The student must pay for another course in full. Continental Pools will not transfer the prior course payment to another course if a student No Shows. No exceptions will be made on this policy
